Science films - revealing underexplored worlds
I've travelled the world with my camera meeting pioneering researchers, and translating their complex work into human-centred stories that land with diverse audiences.
‘since watching your film my friends finally understand what I do!’.
My award-winning films have used stop motion lego to take people into space, and an orchestra to explain epigenetics. I share transformative scientific ideas that reshape how people perceive the world. My films have reached millions, uncovering the forces that shape our planet and ourselves.
Making scientific research accessible.
I produced a series of films for The Lancet medical journal to celebrate their 200 years of being a progressive voice in science. The series was viewed over 500,000 times.
Filming Science Expeditions
I have embedded myself with researchers studying the top millimetre of the ocean, and others studying volcanoes 4000 metres below. I spent a month in Nepal hiking with research scientists and intensive care doctors as they journeyed to Everest Base Camp
Our work was featured by BBC Newsround, Channel 4, The Guardian, the Evening Standard, and several other media outlets.
Hydrothermal Hunt in the Marianas
I have spent around 10 months at sea exploring brand new underwater volcanoes and seafloor ecosystems. These trips increase our understanding of the most inaccessible of environments. My work involves sharing these trips with the public, and engaging them with scientific research so we can better care for our scarcely understood, and rapidly changing water-planet.
